How Prayer Times in Moreno Valley Change Through the Year

Prayer times in Moreno Valley are set by the sun, so they move every single day. The biggest daily swing is at dawn. The earliest Fajr of 2026 in Moreno Valley falls on 07 Jun 2026 at 4:14 AM, while the latest Fajr arrives on 08 Mar 2026 at 6:00 AM. That is a difference of 1 hour 46 minutes across the year, which is why a timetable printed in January cannot be reused in June. The swing is gentler than in the northern states because Moreno Valley sits at 33.9 degrees north, where daylight stays steadier through the year.

Sunset moves even further. Maghrib in Moreno Valley is earliest on 28 Nov 2026 at 4:40 PM and latest on 22 Jun 2026 at 8:04 PM, a shift of 3 hours 24 minutes. On the longest day of the year, 21 Jun 2026, the sun sets at 8:03 PM; on the shortest day, 21 Dec 2026, it sets at 4:44 PM.

For anyone fasting outside Ramadan, such as the Monday and Thursday fasts or the white days each month, the longest fast of 2026 in Moreno Valley runs 15 hours 49 minutes on 18 Jun 2026, from Fajr at 4:14 AM to Maghrib at 8:03 PM. The shortest fast is 11 hours 8 minutes on 17 Dec 2026. Solar noon moves too: Dhuhr ranges from 11:33 AM in one part of the year to 1:00 PM in another, following the equation of time. Measured against the other 218 cities and neighbourhoods we track, that longest fast ranks 150 of 218.

How Each Prayer Time Is Calculated in Moreno Valley

Each prayer begins at a defined position of the sun, not at a fixed clock time. PrayerTimesUSA calculates the Moreno Valley timetable with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) method, the standard used by most mosques in the United States: Fajr and Isha at a sun angle of 15 degrees, Asr by the standard shadow rule, with the Hanafi Asr shown through the method selector. Today's Hijri date in Moreno Valley is 23 Jumādá al-ūlá 1448 (03 Nov 2026).

Fajr (5:00 AM today)

Fajr begins at true dawn, when the first white light spreads across the eastern horizon. In Moreno Valley today that is 5:00 AM, and the window closes at sunrise (6:10 AM). A prayer offered after sunrise counts as missed (qada), so the Fajr alarm matters most in summer: dawn in Moreno Valley ranges across the year from 4:14 AM at its earliest to 6:00 AM at its latest.

Dhuhr (11:33 AM today)

Dhuhr enters just after solar noon, the moment the sun stops climbing and starts down. Solar noon in Moreno Valley is not 12:00 on the clock, because the city sits inside the America/Los_Angeles zone rather than on its meridian line: today it gives a Dhuhr of 11:33 AM. On Fridays, Jummah takes Dhuhr's place.

Asr (2:33 PM today)

Asr begins when the afternoon shadow of an object equals its height, on top of the shadow it cast at noon. In Moreno Valley today that is 2:33 PM by the standard (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) rule. The Hanafi school waits for double the height, around 45 to 65 minutes later; the method selector above shows that time. Pray it before the sun weakens and yellows near the horizon.

Maghrib (4:54 PM today)

At 4:54 PM today in Moreno Valley, the sun sets and Maghrib begins. Its window is the shortest of the day, so it is prayed promptly. On fasting days this same moment is iftar: break the fast first, following the Sunnah, with dates or water.

Isha (6:05 PM today) and the Last Third of the Night

Isha starts when the red afterglow fades from the western sky: 6:05 PM tonight in Moreno Valley. The middle of the Islamic night falls halfway between Maghrib and tomorrow's Fajr, and the last third of the night after that midpoint is the Tahajjud time. Find tonight's exact last third with our Tahajjud calculator.

Finding the Qibla Direction in Moreno Valley (24.90° North-East)

Muslims pray facing the Kaaba in Mecca, and from Moreno Valley that means facing 24.90° north-east from true north, measured the short way around the globe. The bearing comes from Moreno Valley's position (33.9° N, 117.2° W) set against the Kaaba's (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). At about 8325 miles (13397 km), it is one of the longer qibla distances in the United States. Daylight Saving Time in California: The Two Jump Days

Twice a year in Moreno Valley, the clock moves and every prayer time jumps with it. When daylight saving time begins on 08 Mar 2026, Fajr moves from 5:02 AM to 6:00 AM in a single night, a shift of just under an hour, and Maghrib moves from 5:51 PM to 6:51 PM. When standard time returns on 01 Nov 2026, Fajr moves from 5:58 AM back to 4:59 AM, and sunset prayers come an hour earlier in the evening. Every time on this page already follows the America/Los_Angeles clock in force on that date, so no manual adjustment is ever needed.
