Prayer Times Toledo: Islamic Prayer Schedule & Community Guide

Prayer times Toledo - Islamic prayer schedule and mosque guide

This is the Toledo, Ohio prayer timetable for 03 Nov 2026 (23 Jumādá al-ūlá 1448 Hijri). Prayer times Toledo today start with Fajr at 5:51 AM and end the fast at Maghrib, 5:26 PM. 1 Islamic centers serve the local Muslim community. All five daily prayers and the full 31-day monthly schedule are below.

How Prayer Times in Toledo Change Through the Year

Prayer times in Toledo are set by the sun, so they move every single day. The biggest daily swing is at dawn. The earliest Fajr of 2026 in Toledo falls on 11 Jun 2026 at 4:17 AM, while the latest Fajr arrives on 31 Oct 2026 at 6:47 AM. That is a difference of 2 hours 30 minutes across the year, which is why a timetable printed in January cannot be reused in June. The swing is wide because Toledo sits at 41.7 degrees north, far enough from the equator for the seasons to move the sun's path a long way.

The evening moves even more than the morning. The earliest Maghrib of the year in Toledo is 5:04 PM on 02 Dec 2026; the latest is 9:13 PM on 24 Jun 2026, a shift of 4 hours 9 minutes. On the longest day, 21 Jun 2026, sunset holds until 9:12 PM; on the shortest day, 21 Dec 2026, it comes at 5:07 PM.

Anyone who keeps the voluntary fasts, on Mondays and Thursdays or the white days of each month, feels the range most. The longest fast of 2026 in Toledo runs 16 hours 55 minutes, on 19 Jun 2026, from a Fajr of 4:17 AM to a Maghrib of 9:12 PM; the shortest is just 10 hours 32 minutes on 22 Dec 2026. Measured against the other 218 cities and neighbourhoods we track, only 40 have a longer longest fast, which puts Toledo in the longest-fast quarter of the country. Solar noon drifts as well: Dhuhr moves between 12:18 PM and 1:45 PM across the year, following the equation of time.

At the height of summer the night almost disappears. Isha does not arrive until 10:55 PM on 19 Jun 2026, and the next Fajr follows only about 5 hours 22 minutes later. Worshippers in Toledo guard their sleep through June and July, and some mosques adjust or combine the summer night prayers, so check your mosque's board in midsummer.

Muslim Community in Toledo, Ohio

Toledo's Muslim community dates to Syrian and Lebanese immigrants who settled in the area at the turn of the twentieth century, meeting in private homes and rented halls. In 1938 they founded the Syrian American Moslem Society, and in 1953, at the society's invitation, Toledo hosted the second International Moslem Convention, which encouraged the community to build its own mosque.

That mosque opened on East Bancroft Street in 1954 as the Islamic Center of Toledo, the first mosque built in Ohio and the third in the United States. As the community grew through the 1960s and 1970s, it bought 48 acres in Perrysburg Township, and the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo opened there on October 23, 1983, a classical Ottoman style building with twin 135 foot minarets and a gold dome. The old Bancroft Street mosque still operated as Masjid al-Islam as of 2019.

Today the center's members represent over 30 nationalities, and it houses the Islamic School of Greater Toledo. Its annual International Festival draws thousands, and its food bank distributes at least 10,000 meals a year to food insecure children and families. In 2001 the center appointed the first female president of an Islamic center in the United States, and after the September 11 attacks neighbours formed a human protective wall around the mosque while local churches offered escorts to help Muslims feel safe.

How Each Prayer Time Is Calculated in Toledo

The Toledo timetable on this page is calculated with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) method, the convention followed by most mosques in the United States. It sets Fajr and Isha by a 15-degree depression angle of the sun, and Asr by the standard shadow rule; the Hanafi Asr is one tap away in the method selector. Each prayer is tied to a position of the sun, never to a fixed clock time. Today, 03 Nov 2026, is 23 Jumādá al-ūlá 1448.

Fajr (5:51 AM today)

Fajr is prayed at dawn, when light first appears across the horizon before sunrise. Today in Toledo it begins at 5:51 AM and must be finished by sunrise (7:09 AM). Across the year, Toledo's dawn moves from 4:17 AM at the earliest to 6:47 AM at the latest, so regular worshippers reset their Fajr alarm every few weeks.

Dhuhr (12:18 PM today)

Dhuhr starts once the sun has crossed its peak and begun to decline. Solar noon is not the same as 12:00 on the clock, because Toledo sits within the America/New_York zone, away from its central meridian: today Dhuhr in Toledo is 12:18 PM. On Fridays the Jummah congregation takes the place of Dhuhr.

Asr (3:04 PM today)

Under the standard rule used by the Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali schools, Asr opens when a shadow stretches to the object's own length beyond the noon shadow. That gives 3:04 PM in Toledo today. Hanafi Asr, at twice the length, lands roughly 45 to 65 minutes later; flip the method selector at the top of the page to see it. The time to pray Asr runs out as the light yellows toward sunset.

Maghrib (5:26 PM today)

Maghrib begins at sunset, the instant the sun's disc slips fully below the horizon: today that is 5:26 PM in Toledo. On a fasting day this moment is iftar, and the Sunnah is to break the fast right away, with dates or water, and then pray Maghrib.

Isha (6:44 PM today) and the Last Third of the Night

Isha begins when the red twilight leaves the western sky, at 6:44 PM tonight in Toledo. Islamic midnight is the midpoint between Maghrib and the next Fajr, and the last third of the night after it is the time of Tahajjud, the voluntary night prayer. Use our Tahajjud calculator to find tonight's last third for Toledo.

The verified mosque below serves Toledo, with its address, headed by Islamic Center of Greater Toledo. Each mosque sets its own khutbah time inside the Dhuhr window (Dhuhr today is 12:18 PM), so check the mosque's own notice board or website before you go, and arrive early: Friday parking fills fast.

Finding the Qibla Direction in Toledo (51.74° North-East)

Muslims pray facing the Kaaba in Mecca, and from Toledo that means facing 51.74° north-east from true north, measured the short way around the globe. The bearing comes from Toledo's position (41.7° N, 83.5° W) set against the Kaaba's (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). At about 6774 miles (10901 km), that puts Toledo among the closer American places to Mecca. It surprises many people that the direction is north-east rather than south-east: from North America, the shortest line to Mecca crosses the North Atlantic, not the Pacific.

At home or at work in Toledo, the Qibla Compass on your phone reads the bearing directly. Calibrate it with a slow figure-eight motion, and keep it clear of metal furniture and electronics that drag the needle. Inside a mosque, the mihrab already marks the direction.

Daylight Saving Time in Ohio: The Two Jump Days

Toledo moves its clocks twice a year, and the prayer timetable jumps with them. Daylight saving begins on 08 Mar 2026: Fajr leaps from 5:43 AM to 6:42 AM in one night, a shift of just under an hour, and Maghrib follows, from 6:32 PM to 7:33 PM. On 01 Nov 2026 the clocks fall back, and Fajr returns from 6:47 AM to 5:48 AM. Mosques in Toledo reset their iqamah boards on the same weekends. This page always follows the America/New_York time in force, so the times you see are already adjusted.
