How Prayer Times in North Las Vegas Change Through the Year

Prayer times in North Las Vegas are set by the sun, so they move every single day. The biggest daily swing is at dawn. The earliest Fajr of 2026 in North Las Vegas falls on 13 Jun 2026 at 3:54 AM, while the latest Fajr arrives on 08 Mar 2026 at 5:51 AM. That is a difference of 1 hour 57 minutes across the year, which is why a timetable printed in January cannot be reused in June. The swing is gentler than in the northern states because North Las Vegas sits at 36.2 degrees north, where daylight stays steadier through the year.

The evening moves even more than the morning. The earliest Maghrib of the year in North Las Vegas is 4:26 PM on 28 Nov 2026; the latest is 8:02 PM on 23 Jun 2026, a shift of 3 hours 36 minutes. On the longest day, 21 Jun 2026, sunset holds until 8:01 PM; on the shortest day, 21 Dec 2026, it comes at 4:30 PM.

Anyone who keeps the voluntary fasts, on Mondays and Thursdays or the white days of each month, feels the range most. The longest fast of 2026 in North Las Vegas runs 16 hours 6 minutes, on 15 Jun 2026, from a Fajr of 3:54 AM to a Maghrib of 8:00 PM; the shortest is just 10 hours 58 minutes on 18 Dec 2026. Measured against the other 218 cities and neighbourhoods we track, that longest fast ranks 110 of 218. Solar noon drifts as well: Dhuhr moves between 11:24 AM and 12:51 PM across the year, following the equation of time.

How Each Prayer Time Is Calculated in North Las Vegas

Why do the times on this page move a little every day? Because each of the five prayers begins at a set position of the sun. PrayerTimesUSA works out the North Las Vegas schedule with the ISNA method used across most of North America: Fajr and Isha at 15 degrees of sun depression, Asr by the standard shadow rule, with the Hanafi Asr in the method selector above. The Hijri date today in North Las Vegas is 23 Jumādá al-ūlá 1448 (03 Nov 2026).

Fajr (4:53 AM today)

Fajr is prayed at dawn, when light first appears across the horizon before sunrise. Today in North Las Vegas it begins at 4:53 AM and must be finished by sunrise (6:05 AM). Across the year, North Las Vegas's dawn moves from 3:54 AM at the earliest to 5:51 AM at the latest, so regular worshippers reset their Fajr alarm every few weeks.

Dhuhr (11:24 AM today)

Dhuhr starts once the sun has crossed its peak and begun to decline. Solar noon is not the same as 12:00 on the clock, because North Las Vegas sits within the America/Los_Angeles zone, away from its central meridian: today Dhuhr in North Las Vegas is 11:24 AM. On Fridays the Jummah congregation takes the place of Dhuhr.

Asr (2:20 PM today)

Asr begins when an object's shadow equals its height beyond the noon shadow. That standard rule (Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali) gives 2:20 PM in North Las Vegas today. The Hanafi rule waits until the shadow is twice the height, which falls roughly 45 to 65 minutes later; use the calculation method selector at the top of this page to view Hanafi Asr. Finish Asr before the sun turns yellow and weak near the horizon.

Maghrib (4:42 PM today)

Maghrib's window opens at sunset, the instant the sun's disc drops fully out of sight: 4:42 PM today in North Las Vegas. For someone fasting, this is iftar, and the Sunnah is to break the fast at once, with dates or water, before praying.

Isha (5:54 PM today) and the Last Third of the Night

Isha starts when the red afterglow fades from the western sky: 5:54 PM tonight in North Las Vegas. The middle of the Islamic night falls halfway between Maghrib and tomorrow's Fajr, and the last third of the night after that midpoint is the Tahajjud time. Find tonight's exact last third with our Tahajjud calculator.
