How Prayer Times in Hollywood Change Through the Year

No two days in Hollywood start at quite the same time. Across 2026, the earliest dawn prayer falls on 04 Jun 2026 at 5:15 AM, while the latest falls on 08 Mar 2026 at 6:34 AM. Between those dates Fajr travels 1 hour 19 minutes, which is why this page recalculates the timetable daily instead of printing a fixed one. The swing is gentler than in the northern states because Hollywood sits at 26.0 degrees north, where daylight stays steadier through the year.

Sunset moves even further. Maghrib in Hollywood is earliest on 22 Nov 2026 at 5:29 PM and latest on 28 Jun 2026 at 8:17 PM, a shift of 2 hours 48 minutes. On the longest day of the year, 21 Jun 2026, the sun sets at 8:16 PM; on the shortest day, 21 Dec 2026, it sets at 5:34 PM.

Anyone who keeps the voluntary fasts, on Mondays and Thursdays or the white days of each month, feels the range most. The longest fast of 2026 in Hollywood runs 15 hours 0 minutes, on 17 Jun 2026, from a Fajr of 5:15 AM to a Maghrib of 8:15 PM; the shortest is just 11 hours 39 minutes on 16 Dec 2026. Measured against the other 218 cities and neighbourhoods we track, that longest fast sits near the gentle end of the table, ranked 213 of 218. Solar noon drifts as well: Dhuhr moves between 12:04 PM and 1:31 PM across the year, following the equation of time.

How Each Prayer Time Is Calculated in Hollywood

Why do the times on this page move a little every day? Because each of the five prayers begins at a set position of the sun. PrayerTimesUSA works out the Hollywood schedule with the ISNA method used across most of North America: Fajr and Isha at 15 degrees of sun depression, Asr by the standard shadow rule, with the Hanafi Asr in the method selector above. The Hijri date today in Hollywood is 23 Jumādá al-ūlá 1448 (03 Nov 2026).

Fajr (5:26 AM today)

Fajr is prayed at dawn, when light first appears across the horizon before sunrise. Today in Hollywood it begins at 5:26 AM and must be finished by sunrise (6:31 AM). Across the year, Hollywood's dawn moves from 5:15 AM at the earliest to 6:34 AM at the latest, so regular worshippers reset their Fajr alarm every few weeks.

Dhuhr (12:04 PM today)

The noon prayer begins once the sun has passed its peak. In Hollywood that works out to 12:04 PM today. Clock time and sun time differ here because Hollywood keeps America/New_York time from a position away from the zone's central meridian. On Fridays the congregational Jummah replaces Dhuhr.

Asr (3:15 PM today)

The standard Asr rule (followed by the Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali schools) starts Asr when a shadow grows as long as the object itself, past the noon shadow: 3:15 PM in Hollywood today. The Hanafi school uses twice the length, putting Asr roughly 45 to 65 minutes later; switch the method at the top of the page to see it. Pray Asr before the sunlight yellows late in the day.

Maghrib (5:37 PM today)

Maghrib enters the moment the whole disc of the sun disappears below the horizon: 5:37 PM today in Hollywood. It is also the iftar moment on fasting days, and the Sunnah is to break the fast promptly with dates or water, then pray.

Isha (6:42 PM today) and the Last Third of the Night

Isha begins when the red twilight leaves the western sky, at 6:42 PM tonight in Hollywood. Islamic midnight is the midpoint between Maghrib and the next Fajr, and the last third of the night after it is the time of Tahajjud, the voluntary night prayer. Use our Tahajjud calculator to find tonight's last third for Hollywood.

Friday Jummah and Mosques in Hollywood, Florida

Jummah, the Friday congregational prayer, replaces Dhuhr every week and is the largest regular gathering of Muslims in Hollywood. The mosque listed below serves Hollywood with its address, including Islamic Movement of Florida at 3201 NW 74th Ave, Hollywood, FL. Each mosque sets its own khutbah time inside the Dhuhr window (Dhuhr today is 12:04 PM), so check the mosque's own notice board or website before you go, and arrive early: Friday parking fills fast.

These mosques also run weekend schools, community iftars in Ramadan and the five daily prayers in congregation. If a Hollywood mosque is missing here, contact us with its address and Jummah time and we will add it.

Finding the Qibla Direction in Hollywood (56.58° North-East)

Prayer is valid only when faced toward the Kaaba in Mecca, and from Hollywood the shortest path over the Earth's surface, the great-circle route, points 56.58° north-east from true north. The bearing is calculated from Hollywood's coordinates (26.0° N, 80.1° W) to the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). Along that bearing, the Kaaba is about 7251 miles (11669 km) from Hollywood in a straight line over the Earth's curved surface. It surprises many people that the direction is north-east rather than south-east: from North America, the shortest line to Mecca crosses the North Atlantic, not the Pacific.

At home or at work in Hollywood, the Qibla Compass on your phone reads the bearing directly. Calibrate it with a slow figure-eight motion, and keep it clear of metal furniture and electronics that drag the needle. Inside a mosque, the mihrab already marks the direction.

Daylight Saving Time in Florida: The Two Jump Days

Twice a year in Hollywood, the clock moves and every prayer time jumps with it. When daylight saving time begins on 08 Mar 2026, Fajr moves from 5:35 AM to 6:34 AM in a single night, a shift of just under an hour, and Maghrib moves from 6:26 PM to 7:26 PM. When standard time returns on 01 Nov 2026, Fajr moves from 6:24 AM back to 5:25 AM, and sunset prayers come an hour earlier in the evening. Every time on this page already follows the America/New_York clock in force on that date, so no manual adjustment is ever needed.
