Prayer Times Scottsdale: Islamic Prayer Schedule & Community Guide
Prayer times Scottsdale for today, 03 Nov 2026 (23 Jumādá al-ūlá 1448 Hijri): Fajr begins at 5:39 AM in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Maghrib, the fast-breaking prayer, is at 5:34 PM. 1 Islamic centers serve the local Muslim community. Below is the complete timetable for all five daily prayers plus the 31-day monthly schedule.
How Prayer Times in Scottsdale Change Through the Year
Prayer times in Scottsdale are set by the sun, so they move every single day. The biggest daily swing is at dawn. The earliest Fajr of 2026 in Scottsdale falls on 09 Jun 2026 at 3:54 AM, while the latest Fajr arrives on 10 Jan 2026 at 6:20 AM. That is a difference of 2 hours 26 minutes across the year, which is why a timetable printed in January cannot be reused in June. The swing is wide because Scottsdale sits at 33.5 degrees north, far enough from the equator for the seasons to move the sun's path a long way.
Sunset moves even further. Maghrib in Scottsdale is earliest on 02 Dec 2026 at 5:19 PM and latest on 26 Jun 2026 at 7:42 PM, a shift of 2 hours 23 minutes. On the longest day of the year, 21 Jun 2026, the sun sets at 7:41 PM; on the shortest day, 21 Dec 2026, it sets at 5:24 PM.
Anyone who keeps the voluntary fasts, on Mondays and Thursdays or the white days of each month, feels the range most. The longest fast of 2026 in Scottsdale runs 15 hours 46 minutes, on 16 Jun 2026, from a Fajr of 3:54 AM to a Maghrib of 7:40 PM; the shortest is just 11 hours 10 minutes on 15 Dec 2026. Measured against the other 218 cities and neighbourhoods we track, that longest fast sits near the gentle end of the table, ranked 165 of 218. Solar noon drifts as well: Dhuhr moves between 12:11 PM and 12:42 PM across the year, following the equation of time.
Muslim Community in Scottsdale, Arizona
Scottsdale's Muslim community is centred on the Islamic Center of the North East Valley, also called the Scottsdale Masjid, at 12125 E Via Linda. Muslim families living or working in the northeast Valley first met in September 1998 to discuss building a center, and the center held its first Jumuah prayer on September 8, 2000.
The center grew out of interfaith friendship before it had a building. Its members joined Temple Kol Ami of Scottsdale in the Children of Abraham dialogue group, starting with 12 Jews and 12 Muslims meeting in private homes, and that work continued as the mosque was planned. At the March groundbreaking, Jewish, Christian and Muslim leaders and elected officials gathered for a 15,616 square foot building with a prayer hall, multipurpose room, library and minaret.
Today the center serves Scottsdale and the wider northeast Valley, alongside the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona, founded in 1999, which runs school and community presentations across the state. Scottsdale Muslims, like others across the Valley, come from Arab, South Asian, African and other backgrounds, and the center's outreach to nearby churches and synagogues remains part of its character.
How Each Prayer Time Is Calculated in Scottsdale
Why do the times on this page move a little every day? Because each of the five prayers begins at a set position of the sun. PrayerTimesUSA works out the Scottsdale schedule with the ISNA method used across most of North America: Fajr and Isha at 15 degrees of sun depression, Asr by the standard shadow rule, with the Hanafi Asr in the method selector above. The Hijri date today in Scottsdale is 23 Jumādá al-ūlá 1448 (03 Nov 2026).
Fajr (5:39 AM today)
Fajr is the dawn prayer, and its time begins at true dawn, the first horizontal light in the east. Today in Scottsdale that is 5:39 AM. Pray it before sunrise (6:48 AM); after sunrise it counts as qada (missed). Through the year in Scottsdale, dawn moves between 3:54 AM and 6:20 AM, so the Fajr alarm needs resetting with the seasons.
Dhuhr (12:11 PM today)
Dhuhr begins just after the sun passes its highest point and starts to descend. Clock noon and solar noon rarely match, because Scottsdale sits inside the America/Phoenix zone rather than on its meridian, so Dhuhr today is 12:11 PM. On Fridays, Jummah replaces Dhuhr.
Asr (3:12 PM today)
Under the standard rule used by the Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali schools, Asr opens when a shadow stretches to the object's own length beyond the noon shadow. That gives 3:12 PM in Scottsdale today. Hanafi Asr, at twice the length, lands roughly 45 to 65 minutes later; flip the method selector at the top of the page to see it. The time to pray Asr runs out as the light yellows toward sunset.
Maghrib (5:34 PM today)
At 5:34 PM today in Scottsdale, the sun sets and Maghrib begins. Its window is the shortest of the day, so it is prayed promptly. On fasting days this same moment is iftar: break the fast first, following the Sunnah, with dates or water.
Isha (6:44 PM today) and the Last Third of the Night
Isha starts when the red afterglow fades from the western sky: 6:44 PM tonight in Scottsdale. The middle of the Islamic night falls halfway between Maghrib and tomorrow's Fajr, and the last third of the night after that midpoint is the Tahajjud time. Find tonight's exact last third with our Tahajjud calculator.
Friday Jummah and Mosques in Scottsdale, Arizona
Every Friday, Jummah replaces Dhuhr, and it is the largest weekly gathering of Muslims in Scottsdale. The verified mosque below serves Scottsdale, with its address, headed by Islamic Center of North East Valley (ICNEV) at 12125 E Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85259. Islamic Center of North East Valley (ICNEV) publishes a Jummah time of 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, 3:00 PM. Other mosques set their own khutbah times, so confirm before you travel.
Most mosques in Scottsdale also hold the five daily prayers in congregation, Quran classes for children, and taraweeh through Ramadan. If your mosque in Scottsdale is missing from the list, contact us and we will add it with its address and Jummah time.
Finding the Qibla Direction in Scottsdale (30.20° North-East)
Muslims pray facing the Kaaba in Mecca, and from Scottsdale that means facing 30.20° north-east from true north, measured the short way around the globe. The bearing comes from Scottsdale's position (33.5° N, 111.9° W) set against the Kaaba's (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). At about 8211 miles (13214 km), it is one of the longer qibla distances in the United States. It surprises many people that the direction is north-east rather than south-east: from North America, the shortest line to Mecca crosses the North Atlantic, not the Pacific.
At home or at work in Scottsdale, the Qibla Compass on your phone reads the bearing directly. Calibrate it with a slow figure-eight motion, and keep it clear of metal furniture and electronics that drag the needle. Inside a mosque, the mihrab already marks the direction.
No Clock Changes in Arizona: Times Move Only With the Sun
There are no clock changes to plan around in Arizona. Scottsdale stays on America/Phoenix all year, so prayer times slide only with the sun, a minute or two a day, never an hour overnight. The one trap is travel: cross into a daylight-saving state and your phone clock will jump even though Scottsdale's timetable has not.
Daily Adhkar and Duas for Scottsdale
Pair the prayers with the recorded supplications: the dua after the adhan, the dua after wudu, tasbih of 33 after every prayer, and duas for relief and gratitude. The full set, with Arabic, transliteration and translation, is in our dua library.
